Christchurch and the surrounding area offer the visitor a variety of sights and activities. Day 15 - Depart Christchurch
Today take the opportunity of a day excursion to the French settlement of Akaroa on Banks Peninsula. Stroll around Akaroa, Canterbury’s oldest village – an unexpected but truly magical taste of provincial France just one and a half hours drive from Christchurch. This longstanding tribute to the region’s first settlers offers intriguing museums, craft shops and secluded lunch spots.
