Day 3 - Queenstown
Overnight: The Dairy, Private Luxury Hotel
Queenstown is nestled on the shores of Lake Wakatipu and with a stunning backdrop of the Remarkables mountain range; this alpine township offers a staggering range of experiences and adventures.
Year round there is plenty of action. Choose from jet boat rides, abseiling or rock climbing, mountain biking or hangliding, parapenting or fishing, or a gentle ride aboard the Queenstown Gondola to take in the incredible views of Bob’s Peak. Cruise across the Lake, aboard an historic steamer for a sheep station experience.
This afternoon you may enjoy visiting Arrowtown; nestled at the foot of rugged hills, it is the most picturesque and best-preserved gold-mining town in the area. The main street has many old colonial shops and buildings at one end, while at the other end you will find miners’ stone cottages dating back to the 1860’s and 70’s.

Day 4 - Queenstown to doubtful sound via Manapouri
Overnight: Fiordland Navigator double/twin cabin
Meals: Dinner and breakfast
Day at leisure. You may enjoy a privately guided hike, a ride on the gondola to Bob’s Peak for stunning views of Queenstown Bay or a jetboat ride on the Dart River. Alternatively you may prefer to take a tour of the vineyards in Queenstown and the Cromwell /Bannockburn area.
Day 5 - Queenstown to Doubtful Sound via Manapouri and return to Queenstown
On boarding the coach in Queenstown, you are treated to a relaxing trip along the shores of Lake Wakatipu and through the rolling countryside to Pearl Harbor, Manapouri. You will then board a vessel and cruise across picturesque Lake Manapouri to West Arm before travelling by coach through dense rainforest over Wilmot Pass. Once at Deep Cove, you board a catamaran for a three-hour cruise of beautiful Doubtful Sound.
On board there is excellent viewing of waterfalls, rainforest and mountains. Of particular interest, if sighted, are fur seals basking on the rocks, or a resident pod of bottlenose dolphins. On the return journey, the vessel’s engines are turned off and you are treated to the ‘Sound of Silence’. There is the opportunity to visit the Manapouri Underground Power Station. You will then retrace your journey back to Queenstown.
